What is LTC? How can I take my idea for a TV show, video, or website, turn it into a finished product, and share it with the citizens of Lowell? All new members are required to join us for this facility tour and discussion.

Studio A Production

This class will show you all you need to know to direct your own studio production. From working the control room to handling talent, to directing a live production, this class is the real deal.

Learn to use our very popular & small host-operated studio. This studio can do everything studio A can, but it only takes 1 person to operate everything.

Field Production

This 3-session class will teach you everything you need to know about using camera, lighting, and audio to record your program in the field..

Final Cut Basics

This 2-week, 4-session class will cover basic and intermediate editing with Final Cut Pro. You will work individually with video material supplied by the instructor in LTC's Mac Lab. Students will create a 2 - 5 minute short video.

DVD Studio Pro

Learn how to professionally encode your program content and author your own complex DVD to include multiple audio/video tracks, slide shows, subtitles, etc.

Pre-requisite: Experience with Final Cut Pro

Digital Storytelling: Intro to MAC Basics

This class will familiarize students with the Mac through Digital Storytelling, which uses technology to express a point of view. Participants will experience the detailed process of creating their own digital story, using iPhoto and iMovie.

Web Design

Learn HTML through Dreamweaver to build your own dynamic web page, connecting you with the world wide web.

This class focuses on converting your newly created program into a web ready, compressed video for sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

Every LTC program uses sound: it may be speaking voices, singing voices, background music, crowd noises, or even sound effects. But have you ever thought of sound as art? This 1-session class will have you exploring the artistic side of audio.

This 1-session class will cover the basics of how to go about starting your own blog: planning/designing, selecting a platform/software tool, using tags, etc.

Basic Video: Seeing with the Camera's Eye

Today's camcorders are small, light and can be easily carried anywhere. They have become, literally an extension of the eye - of seeing. This 1-session class will teach you not only the basics of using a camcorder but how to see through the lens with an artist's eye.
