Lowell TeleMedia Center (LTC), Lowell’s independent non-profit organization that serves the Lowell community with media training, education, and coverage of city meetings, announced today they have hired Adam McCune as their new Executive Director.

“After an exhaustive search which lasted one and a half years and spanned 4 continents the LTC’s ad-hoc Executive Director Search Committee was able to find Adam McCune after a thorough application process,” according to Eric Sack, board chairman of LTC, “The committee forwarded their recommendation to the entire board for their unanimous ratification. We did not rush, but we acted swiftly when Adam revealed himself to be the ideal candidate to fill this important leadership position in our community.”

Adam and his family lived in New Hampshire, where he was the Director of Goffstown TV in Goffstown, NH for 8 years. Prior to that, Adam worked in Merrimack, NH and had a 10-year career as a radio host, most recently at WZID and “96.5 The Mill” in Manchester, NH, along with freelance work at New Hampshire Public Radio. He also was a city columnist for the New Hampshire Union Leader for five years.

Most recently, Adam worked in communications for Sarasota and Manatee County school districts in Florida, where he oversaw student-led broadcasts of sporting events and arts programming, before coming back to the Northeast.

“Anyone who’s set foot in Lowell, understands how vibrant and beautiful this city is and can see what is yet to come,” said McCune, “I’m fortunate to be a part of that.”

Eric Sack added, “I would like to thank the ED search committee, the entire LTC board, the LTC staff, our membership, the City Manager and his staff, the Lowell City Council, and the Lowell School Committee for being patient while we navigated this process and helped us along the way. I would especially like to thank Adam for bringing his creativity, team-oriented leadership style, and sense of humor to an organization we all care so much about.”

McCune’s broad media background will serve the organization as it goes forward. He started his position on Monday, August 28th.
